Birding While Exploring Oman's Rich Natural Landscape

Isn’t it amazing to learn that, annually over 300,000 birds of approximately 80 different species have, in recent times, made the intertidal wetland on the coast of Oman their home for resting and feeding during their annual migration?

Well then, wake up with the birds and go to sleep with the stars! Enjoy a bird’s eye view of the plains below from the mountain tops! And of course, in order to see birds, it is necessary to become a part of the silence!

The Barr al Hikman peninsula occupies the largest part of the Al Wusta Wetlands Reserve with an area of approximately 900sq km and is one of the main wintering and stop-over point for migratory shorebirds. It is classified as one of the top 25 sites of international importance for migratory birds during winter in the African-Eurasian flyway.

Bestowed with many coastal Khawrs (lagoons), wetlands and mountains, Oman is ideally located on the migratory path of many species of migrant birds for their annual stop-over. No wonder why the country is fast becoming popular among ornithologists and avid avian enthusiasts.

Not only do our expert guides know a lot about birds and their nuances, about the features that separate one species from another but with their alert vision and hearing, they ensure that you do not miss out on any bird that crosses your path.

Follow us, for an easy-paced birding experience to really appreciate the birds as well as Oman’s beautiful landscapes.
